Man, 68, dies after falling onto track in front of train at Segar LRT station

A 68-year-old man apparently fell in front of an oncoming train at Segar LRT station at about 5am on May 18 and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
In response to Mothership's queries, the police said they received a call for assistance at Segar LRT Station at about 5:50am.
Police said the man was seen to have fallen onto the track in front of an oncoming train.
The man was found motionless and pronounced dead at the scene by a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) paramedic.
SCDF said that they conveyed another person to Woodlands Hospital as well.
The police do not suspect foul play based on preliminary investigations.
Investigations are ongoing.
SMRT said at 6:52am that services were affected due to a "track intrusion".
At 7:09am, SMRT said a man was seen trespassing on the track near Segar station at about 5am.
SMRT said LRT services between Petir and Senja stations have resumed services and it will continue to assist in police investigations.
Free regular bus and bridging bus services have stopped.
Background
Train services between Petir and Senja stations, in both directions, were temporarily suspended to allow the police safe access to the tracks for investigations, SMRT said in a Facebook post.
There were no train services between Senja and Bukit Panjang stations.
Train services between Choa Chu Kang and Bukit Panjang stations remained available.
Free bridging bus and regular bus services were activated.
