Fake S'pore police office, uniforms, found in abandoned Cambodia scam compound

A room set up by scammers to imitate a Singapore police office was found in an abandoned compound in Cambodia following a raid by Thailand's military in December 2025.

International observers and journalists were shown the interior of the compound during a trip organised by the Thai military.

According to ABC News, the abandoned scam compound was located in the town of O'Smach, along the Cambodian-Thai border in the north.

Inside one of the buildings was a fake Singapore police office, which was adorned with the Singapore police's logo as well as a sign that read, "Woodlands East NPC".

The abandoned site is now occupied by Thai troops after December's border clashes with Cambodia, but had previously served as a scam centre, Thai officials said, according to AP News.

Some parts of the buildings had been destroyed as a result of shelling during the conflict.

Documents, equipment and personal belongings, likely abandoned in haste, were found scattered throughout the building.

Apart from the fake Singapore police office, mock-ups of police stations and uniforms of law enforcement from China, Australia, India, Indonesia, Vietnam and Brazil were also found.

In the first half of 2025, Singaporeans lost S$126.5 million to government official impersonation scams.

This scam variant resulted in the second-highest loss among all variants in the same period.
