60 FairPrice stores to distribute 80,000 free 'Buka Puasa' refreshment snacks during Ramadan
FairPrice Foundation will also distribute 500 Ramadan care packs to beneficiaries of Mendaki.
FairPrice Group (FPG) will be distributing 80,000 Buka Puasa refreshment sets across 60 FairPrice stores islandwide to support Muslim customers breaking their fast in the evenings, during the month of Ramadan.
Refreshments will be handed out 30 minutes before and after the fast-breaking period
The initiative will run from Feb. 19 to Mar. 20, marking FPG’s 18th consecutive year of Ramadan community outreach, the group said in a press release on Thursday.
This year’s refreshment distribution includes fresh apples sponsored by FairPrice Foundation (FPF), the philanthropic arm of the supermarket chain, aimed at offering more nutritious options for customers breaking their fast.

Customers may choose one snack — an apple, dates or biscuits — along with a drink such as tea, milk, an isotonic beverage or water, while stocks last.
In addition, over Feb. 19 and 20, FPF will distribute 500 Ramadan care packs to beneficiaries of Mendaki, a community self-help group.

The packs contain fresh apples, dates, fresh milk, cooking paste and other essentials to support families during the fasting month.
On Mar. 4, FPF will also sponsor a Buka Puasa event held in collaboration with the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC) under M Focus Area 4 (FA4), bringing together more than 100 beneficiaries from Yayasan Mendaki and union worker representatives.
Each beneficiary will receive a Ramadan care pack at the event.
Other promotions
Separately, FairPrice will roll out promotions on Hari Raya festive items until Mar. 25, including discounts on fresh and frozen foods, household essentials, festive snacks and beverages.
Hari Raya Puasa falls on Mar. 21 this year.
During the same period, customers can also redeem Raya festive packets in-store with a minimum spend of S$30 in a single receipt, limited to one redemption per transaction while stocks last.
About 35 FairPrice outlets will also feature Hari Raya bazaars offering ready-to-eat festive food, condiments, frozen items, desserts and festive decorations.
In addition, selected Cantine outlets will run a promotion offering two Ice Spin Bandung drinks for S$3 until Mar. 22.
More details and the full list of participating stores are available on the FairPrice website.
David Goh, chief executive officer for Supermarket, Cheers and Unity, said the initiative aims to bring the Ramadan spirit closer to neighbourhood communities and strengthen social bonds through support for Muslim customers and community partners.
"We believe that by supporting our Muslim customers and community partners, we help weave a stronger, more inclusive social fabric for all Singaporeans," he said.
