He is accused of dangerous driving causing death.
A 44-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly hitting a pedestrian with a car in Jurong West and driving off.
The woman, 36, had been crossing the road in the morning of Jan. 23.
A resident told Shin Min Daily News that there was a loud "bang", and the car appeared to hit a tree first before hitting the woman.
The woman was later seen with a bloodied mouth, with a passer-by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) on her.
She was conveyed unconscious to hospital, but later died, said the Singapore Police Force (SPF).
Hit-and-run
A piece of shattered glass, suspected to be from the car, was left on the grass in the wake of the incident, Shin Min reported.
The driver had left the scene after the incident, and was not present upon the police's arrival.
SPF confirmed with Mothership that the male car driver was subsequently arrested on Jan. 24, a day after the hit-and-run.
He is accused of dangerous driving causing death.
Investigations are ongoing.
