Nasi Padang stall Warong Nasi Pariaman, located along North Bridge Road at Bugis, will be closing on Jan. 31 after a 78-year run.

The stall, which had opened in 1948, had announced the closure on Instagram and Facebook on Jan. 20.

The Facebook post read: "With heartfelt thanks, we would like to inform you that Warong Nasi Pariaman will be closing permanently on 31 January 2026."

The stall also expressed its gratitude for the support from its customers over the years.

No reason was given for the sudden closure.

In the comments section, many netizens lamented the closure, expressing gratitude and sadness over the announcement.

According to the National Library Board’s website, Warong Nasi Pariaman is the "oldest surviving stall in Singapore that serves nasi padang".

The stall is well-known for its authentic Pariaman (a coastal city in Indonesia) dishes, particularly beef rendang and ikan bakar.

Mothership has reached out to the stall for further comment.
