3 men, aged 38-75, pasted & damaged ads in Toa Payoh, allegedly business rivals
They will be charged in court on Jan. 27, 2026.
Three men, aged between 38 and 75, will be charged for their suspected involvement in a series of vandalism incidents relating to the pasting of advertisements at a public housing estate.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the acts were allegedly motivated by business rivalry, with the individuals also allegedly damaging each other's advertisements, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said in a press release.
The police said they were alerted to multiple cases of vandalism where advertisements were pasted in lifts, on doors and along common corridors of Blocks 403A and 402B Lorong 1 Toa Payoh, between August and September 2025.
Through follow-up investigations and with the aid of images from CCTVs, officers from Tanglin Police Division established the identities of the three men on Sep. 3, 2025.
The three men will be charged in court on Jan. 27, 2026, with the offence of vandalism with common intention.
If convicted, they face a fine not exceeding S$2,000, or imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years, and shall also be liable to caning of not less than three strokes and not more than eight strokes.
The police said they have zero tolerance towards acts of vandalism and will not hesitate to take action against those who blatantly disregard the law.
