Phuket hotel staff tries to enter woman's room with master keycard, rushes to delete CCTV footage after she catches him
Surveillance footage captured him attempting to access several rooms.
The head security guard of a hotel in Phuket, Thailand, was arrested on Jan. 18, 2026, after he tried to break into a female DJ's room with a master keycard on Jan. 16.
Thaiger reported that the 39-year-old suspect, Kanisorn, has since been charged with attempting to break into a dwelling at night.
The Thai DJ, Mirinda Malinrattanawadee, had travelled to Phuket for an event but ended up not attending as she felt unwell.
Recounting the incident on Facebook, she said she was resting in her hotel room when a man tried to enter the room on Jan. 16 at around 10pm.
Attempted to open door
Kanisorn had first shouted "hey" outside her door.
Feeling uneasy, Mirinda did not respond but locked the door from the inside and started recording the incident, asking who was there in an attempt to identify him.
Moments later, he attempted to open the room door with a master keycard, which according to Khaosod, belonged to the daily housekeeper.

Thaiger reported that he was unable to enter because the door was latched from the inside.
Mirinda then spoke to a hotel staff member, who claimed to have checked the surveillance footage but then said the footage disappeared.
After demanding a refund, the staff allegedly told Mirinda that he could not provide an answer until senior management reviewed the case the following morning.
Deleted footage
Investigations revealed that based on surveillance footage recovered by the hotel, Kanisorn had previously finished his shift at 4pm on Jan. 16 but remained in a staff room at the hotel.
He was later seen wearing a T-shirt, shorts and slippers while attempting to access several rooms.
After failing to do so, he attempted to enter Mirinda's room. When she caught him trying to do so, he rushed to delete the security camera footage before fleeing the scene.

Apology statement
Following her ordeal, Mirinda updated her followers that she had filed a police report and checked out of the hotel.
In response to this incident, Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Surin Beach posted an apology on Facebook, adding that the incident "impacted the safety and peace of mind of our guest".
"Guest safety and privacy are our highest priorities, and the hotel has not taken this matter lightly," the hotel said, adding that the incident has been reported to the police and an investigation is currently underway.
In addition, Thairath reported that the hotel has since terminated Kanisorn's employment contract.
Penalties
Kanisorn is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 19, Thairath reported, adding that an arrest warrant will be issued should he fail to do so.
Thaiger wrote that if convicted, Kanisorn can face up to five years' jail, a fine of up to 100,000 baht (S$4,113), or both.
