Pedestrian, 59, dies in Ang Mo Kio accident, driver, 50, arrested
The man passed away at the hospital.
A 59-year-old man has died following an accident with a car in Ang Mo Kio on the evening of Jan. 19.
The police confirmed with Mothership that they were alerted to an accident involving a car and a pedestrian at Block 231 Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 at about 8:30pm.
In response to queries from Mothership, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to a road traffic accident at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 3 and Ang Mo Kio Avenue 4 at about 8:30pm.
The pedestrian was conveyed unconscious to Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he subsequently passed away.
The 50-year-old male driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death.
Videos circulating online show a car in an area between Blocks 231 and 230, which has been cordoned off.
Debris could also be seen strewn on the pedestrian walkway.
Police investigations are ongoing.
