Motorcyclist, 37, tries to change lane along Lavender Street, gets rear-ended & taken to hospital

A 64-year-old male driver is assisting with investigations.

A motorcyclist who was changing lanes along Lavender Street towards Crawford Street was rear-ended by a car in the lane he was moving into.

Police confirmed with Mothership that they were alerted to the accident at about 8:20am on Jan. 7, 2026.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) was also alerted and later conveyed the 37-year-old male motorcyclist to Raffles Hospital.

A 64-year-old male driver is assisting with police investigations.

The incident was captured on another vehicle’s dashcam and later posted in the Facebook group SG Road Vigilante.

In the video, the motorcyclist is seen changing lanes from the second to the outermost lane.

As he does so, a car travelling in the outermost lane collides with him.

The rider is thrown off the motorcycle, hits the car’s bumper, and lands on the ground.

He is later seen attempting to sit up as a passerby approaches to check on him.
