M'sia girl, 3, jumps out of moving car on her way to 1st day of school, gets 20 stitches
First day blues.
A three-year-old girl in Malaysia was left bloodied and bruised after she leapt out of a moving car while on her way to her first day of school.
She later received over 20 stitches at a dental clinic.
What happened
The child's mother provided an account of the accident in a social media post, Sin Chew Daily reported.
On the three-year-old's first day, she was given a lift to school by a teacher.
Five minutes after the journey began, her mother received a phone call from the teacher.
The girl had apparently leapt out of the car as it was on the move.
Assuming that the injuries would be light, her mother waited for her at home, but she did not show up.
This prompted the parent to drive over to check things out for herself.
To her horror, she found her daughter covered in splotches of blood.
"When I arrived, her clothes were covered in blood, and she was also bleeding profusely from her mouth. That's when I rushed her to the hospital," the mother said, according to Sin Chew Daily.
20 stitches
Besides the wounds around her lips, the three-year-old was also found to have sustained injuries inside her mouth.
She was transferred to a dental clinic for further treatment.
There, she received more than 20 stitches.

Not blaming anyone
The three-year-old is now recuperating at home, but is kept on a liquid diet as she is having difficulty consuming solid foods.
Apart from cleaning and disinfecting her wounds at home on the regular, she has to make weekly visits to the doctor's for follow-ups.
The child's mother remarked that nobody wanted something like this to happen, and she was not going to blame anyone.
She also expressed relief that the accident took place along a relatively quiet stretch of road.
"Looking back, there's still a lingering sense of fear, and I just hope for my child's speedy recovery," the mother commented, Sin Chew Daily wrote.
