Chinese researchers say they may have exposed potential vulnerabilities in the design of the B-21 Raider, the United States' most advanced stealth bomber.

They did this using a powerful aerospace simulation tool they developed.

According to Chinese media, the researchers applied 288 parameters to a simulated B-21 configuration using the software, which uses artificial intelligence.

They did not indicate what data they used for analysis.

SCMP reported that the PADJ-X software system was unveiled in a peer-reviewed paper published in Acta Aeronautica et Astronautica Sinica.

The paper suggested that the bomber might fall short in "aerodynamics and stability".

SCMP, however, noted that the actual parameters of the B-21 are classified, so it is uncertain whether the results can match specific mission needs or tactical goals of the US military.

The B-21 Bomber is the successor to the B-2 Bomber, which is perhaps best known now for its role in the US' "Operation Midnight Hammer" in Iran.
