SM Lee opens new ActiveSG Sport Park, formerly AMK Swimming Complex, with futsal court & sheltered pool

Ang Mo Kio residents will get to enjoy the new ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee from today.

Located on the site of the former Ang Mo Kio Swimming Complex, the Sport Park took two years to complete and was officially opened by Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong on Jan. 25.

On Jan. 25, SM Lee marked the opening of the facility on Facebook.

ActiveSG Sport Park @ Teck Ghee houses various facilities, including a sheltered pool, an indoor futsal court, and a two-storey gym.

Inclusive and accessible facilities

The facility also features a sheltered multi-generational pool designed to support low-impact physical activity and rehabilitation, and a calming pod, a first for a local sporting facility.

The calming pod is designed to provide a dedicated, low-stimulation space for individuals with special needs who require a quiet and safe environment for self-regulation.

Tan Hock Leong, Chief of ActiveSG at Sport Singapore, said that the facility is designed to be accessible and welcoming to all, and the Sport Park offers quality facilities that residents of different ages and abilities can use comfortably in their daily routines.

"With ActiveSG Credits, the community can also enjoy these facilities affordably, lowering barriers to participation and encouraging more Singaporeans to embrace an active lifestyle,” Tan added.
