Multiple areas in S'pore at risk of flash floods due to heavy rain: PUB

Heavy rain is expected to fall over various parts of Singapore this afternoon.

Those visiting Thomson Rd (Balestier Rd to Novena Rise) were advised to avoid the road for one hour due to the risk of flash floods.

At 12:55pm PUB sent out an alert warning of the risk of flash floods on Thomson Rd:

In another post, PUB added that heavy rain is expected over the southern, western and central areas of Singapore from 1:15 pm to 2:15 pm.

Other areas are also at risk of flash floods.

The wet weather will persist for the rest of December, with thundery showers expected on most afternoons and, on some days, stretching into the evening.

A few of these days could see widespread and heavy rain.

Overall rainfall for the second half of December is forecast to be around the average across most parts of Singapore.
