Two men were caught on camera brawling at a food centre in Telok Blangah on the afternoon of Nov. 24.

The altercation took place in front of a fried rice stall at Telok Blangah Crescent Market and Food Centre, with one man using a stick, and the other, his fists.

Police told Mothership that they were alerted to the fight at Block 11 Telok Blangah Crescent on Nov. 24 at 5:25pm.

Two men, aged 63 and 68, were subsequently arrested for affray.

The fight

A video of the incident was shared to Facebook on Nov. 25.

In the video, a man in a black shirt swung what appears to be a wooden stick and a man in a white shirt responded by punching him.

The man in black fell from the impact and landed at the stall entrance, where the man in white tried to disarm him, but to no avail.

The man in black then tried to stand up, but took several punches to the face and fell back down.

A man in a cap then stepped in to separate the fighting duo.

As the man in white backed off, he threw his glasses on a table.

The two men then had a brief standoff on opposite sides of the table, as the man in white grabbed a plastic chair.

However, with the mediator's efforts, both men eventually left the venue separately.

According to the post, the man mediating between the two was a member of the public.

The exact cause of the fight is uncertain.

One man insulted another: Stall owner

The stall owner told Shin Min Daily News (Shin Min) that he believes both men know each other, as they were sitting together in the food centre before the fight.

However, he did not recognise them, as they were not regulars at the food centre, he said.

At some point, the stall owner heard the men arguing with each other.

One of the men insulted the other in dialect, and then the fight started, the stall owner said.

The owner told Shin Min that he asked the two men to stop fighting, and they left before police arrived.

After the fight, police interviewed the stall owner as part of investigations, and he handed over his stall's CCTV footage to them.

He ended up having to wash bloodstains from the fight off his stall floor.

Both men arrested

Police said that the 68-year-old man was conveyed conscious to the hospital.

Both men were arrested for affray.

Police investigations are ongoing.
