Police has asked eyewitnesses to offer up any further information.
A 36-year-old Singaporean man is under investigation by the Malaysian police for damaging a petrol pump at a Shell station in Johor, Malaysia.
He had driven off with the fuel nozzle still attached to the car, which yanked the petrol pump to one side.
If found guilty of the offence, he may be fined up to RM300 (S$92).
Incident
The incident occurred at around 10:15pm on Saturday, Oct. 18, at the petrol station located at Skudai Highway, 81300 Johor Bahru, and was caught on camera by at least one other patron there at the time.
According to a Facebook post by the eyewitness, her parents were refuelling at the time when all of them suddenly heard a loud noise.
They then realised it was caused by a car with a Singapore registration plate that had driven off with the fuel nozzle from the fuel pump still attached to it.
The driver was seen immediately exiting the car to check out what had happened.
The petrol station was also forced to halt operations temporarily.
The eyewitness added that there was a fear that the petrol pump might explode.
