Eligible lower-income households in Singapore will soon be able to receive public transport vouchers to help them cope with the new fare adjustment of 5 per cent.

As with the Public Transport Voucher (PTV) Exercise in 2024, these vouchers are worth S$60, and will only be available to households whose monthly household income per person is not more than S$1,800.

The vouchers can be used to top up fare cards, or buy monthly passes from Dec. 27, 2025, after the fare adjustment takes place.

How to get the vouchers

There will be two stages to the PTV Exercise.

In the first stage, households that have received a voucher during the 2024 PTV Exercise and continue to meet the income eligibility criterion will automatically receive a voucher this time around.

These households will be informed via a notification letters by post, or via SMS by end-December.

In the second stage, which starts from early 2026, households that did not receive a voucher during the previous PTV Exercise but do meet the income eligibility criterion, can apply for the vouchers online.

They can also do so in person at community centres/clubs.

More details on the application process will be announced at a later date.

After receiving their notification letter, households can follow the instructions to redeem the voucher via the SimplyGo app, or at any SimplyGo kiosk, top-up kiosk, assisted service kiosk, SimplyGo ticket office or SimplyGo ticketing service centre from Dec. 29 onwards.

These vouchers will be valid for redemption until Mar. 31, 2027.
