Several players from Tengah Football Club (FC) have been suspended after their involvement in a fight in Toa Payoh on Aug. 24, 2025.
Three men, aged between 21 and 30, were arrested for rioting after a fight broke out at Block 10B Lorong 7 Toa Payoh at 9:50am.
In a Facebook post on Sep. 1, the football club confirmed that several of the individuals arrested were registered players of Tengah FC.
Once the club was informed of its players' involvement, they were immediately suspended from all club activities, pending the outcome of the police investigation.
"The club is treating this matter with the utmost seriousness," it added.
The club shared that it was built around a mission to provide individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds, including former convicts seeking rehabilitation, to reintegrate into society through football, while offering avenues for gainful employment.
"The alleged actions of these individuals, undertaken in their personal capacity, are a profound betrayal of the strict values of discipline, respect, and accountability we instil.
As a club, we maintain a zero-tolerance stance against violence, gangsterism, or any conduct that brings disrepute to the sport or our community."
The club stated that it respects the ongoing police investigation and will await its conclusions before taking any further disciplinary action.
According to the Football Association of Singapore, Tengah FC is one of eight teams in the Singapore League 1, the highest tier of amateur football in Singapore.
