Punggol condo fire: 100 people evacuated & 3 taken to hospital

Three people were taken to the hospital after a fire broke out at an executive condominium in Punggol.

A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) Facebook post stated that the firefighters responded to the fire at around 7pm on Aug. 6.

The fire had broken out in the living room of a 16th floor unit at Block 19 Punggol Field Walk, which is the address of Waterwoods executive condominium.

SCDF personnel forcibly entered the unit and found four persons inside.

They were brought out to safety by firefighters, and the fire was extinguished with a water jet.

All four persons were conscious and were assessed for smoke inhalation.

Two were conveyed to KK Women's and Children's Hospital, one was conveyed to Singapore General Hospital and the fourth declined to be sent to the hospital.

Around 100 persons from the affected block were evacuated as a precautionary measure.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
