A three-year-old boy in Malaysia sustained facial injuries after falling out of a car window while his father stopped at the side of the road to answer a phone call.

The incident took place at about 11am on Apr. 7, 2025, according to Lipis District Police.

Drove two kilometres

Lipis police chief Ismail Man said that the father and son were travelling from Kampung Tempoyang, Pahang, to his home in Kampung Berembang, Kuala Lumpur.

The 36-year-old father then stopped his car mid-journey to answer a phone call.

The father continued on his way after answering the phone call, only realising two kilometres later that his son was not in the car.

The father tried to search for the boy along the road but failed to find him, eventually filing a police report at the Kuala Lipis police station.

Passerby brought son to police station

The man was at the police station when he was informed that his son had been found.

A passerby had spotted the injured boy standing alone on the side of the road and took him to the Padang Tengku Police Station, where he was sent to the Padang Tengku Health Clinic.

The boy was later referred to the Kuala Lipis Hospital for treatment.

Ismail said that based on investigations, the boy had fallen from the left rear window of the car, which was left open while his father stopped to answer a phone call.

According to Buletin TV3, the incident is currently being investigated under section 337 of the Penal Code for causing hurt by an act which endangers life or the personal safety of others.
