Food delivery service foodpanda will cease operations in Thailand from May 23, according to a report by Reuters.
In a report by Bangkok Post, the decision to stop operating in Thailand is in line with the parent company Delivery Hero's focus on "optimising its geostrategy".
The company previously discontinued operations in Denmark, Ghana, Slovakia and Slovenia.
A statement by Delivery Hero mentioned that it will "continue concentrating efforts" in other parts of Asia-Pacific, where the company sees "greater returns".
It was previously reported in September 2023 that Delivery Hero planned on selling foodpanda's operations in selected Southeast Asia markets including Singapore.
Grab was listed as one of its potential buyers.
In April 2024, however, negotiations of the potential sale to Grab fell through amid concerns about the merger.
