S'pore actor Xu Bin & wife invest '6-figure' sum in aesthetics clinic at Somerset

Noontalk Media actor Xu Bin, 36, and his wife, Evelyn Wang, 33, opened their new aesthetics clinic along Oxley Rise on Feb. 22, 2025.
In an Instagram post announcing the opening, Xu shared that the clinic, "X Aesthetics Clinic", is located at The Rise at Oxley, a condominium complex.
The actor also revealed that he had the idea of starting his own business "many years ago" and had been looking forward to it materialising.
Xu concluded the post by thanking those who attended the clinic's opening, as well as his "brothers and sisters", who have always supported him.
Acting profession offers spare time
Speaking to Mothership, Xu shared that he wanted to start his own business because "there were a lot of uncertainties that come with the profession of acting".
"You don't know when you will or will not have a drama to film. Hence, I have been thinking about what else I can do [with my time]," he added.
After brainstorming, Xu and Wang decided to open the aesthetics clinic, as both of them like to take care of their appearances and Wang is "very interested in skincare and beauty".
Although the couple had thought about venturing into the food and beverage industry previously, they did not explore the idea further.
"At the time, we met with the right timing and the right people [to open the clinic]," Xu recounted.
"As such, after a period of preparation, which included finding the right doctors and location, we launched our business."
In terms of his job scope at the clinic, Xu said Wang and their business partners will be overseeing its daily operations, as he might be busy with acting.
However, when he is free, he will help with the clinic's marketing, shared Xu.
Xu 'has faith' in aesthetics clinic
While acknowledging that the competition is fierce between aesthetics clinics in Singapore, Xu said he has faith in his business, in which he and his wife invested "a six-figure sum":
"We specialise in laser treatments, which will render the same [beautifying] effects without subjecting the customer to surgery or anesthesia.
When compared with similar treatments, ours are faster and more effective. Most importantly, our treatments are less invasive and do not require any down time."
Other than laser treatments, Xu shared that his clinic will also offer "one-stop beauty services", such as eyelash extensions, scalp and shoulder massage, and body hair removal.
"We also have our own dental clinic, Asia Pacific Dental Centre, which is located behind our aesthetics clinic and part of our overall set-up," added Xu.
However, Xu stated that he does not plan on opening a hair salon, as he and his fellow artistes at Noontalk Media typically visit a hair salon at Plaza Singapura.
"We are good friends with the hairdressers there, and our business is located quite closely to each other. We will work together to boost each other's business and offer good services to our customers," said Xu.
For prospective customers to his clinic, Xu hoped they could give its services a try and share their feedback with him.
