US man claims pet dog, Oreo, shot him after getting paw stuck in gun trigger

A man in the U.S. was allegedly shot by his pet dog while he was lying in bed.

According to local news WREG, the Memphis police department in Tennessee responded to an accidental injury call on Mar. 10 at around 4 a.m.

Fox 13 reported that the man was lying in bed asleep with his girlfriend with a gun in the bed when his pet dog jumped onto the bed.

The dog, a one-year-old pit bull named Oreo, allegedly got its paw stuck in the trigger and accidentally set the gun off.

The bullet then grazed the man's left thigh.

WREG added that the girlfriend left the scene and took the gun with her after the accident.

The victim's friend also shared that the pit bull is friendly and the victim is fine.
