In response to Mothership's queries, deputy managing director of SMRT Buses Vincent Gay confirmed that a passenger was found asleep on the upper deck of bus 913 on Mar. 17 at around 10:30am.
"Our investigations found that the bus captain did not check whether there were any passengers onboard before parking. The passenger was subsequently assisted by an interchange staff member and alighted safely," said Gay.
The bus captain has since been counselled, and SMRT reminded all bus captains to adhere to operational protocols while performing their duties.
