Battled illness for five years
Fong's passing was announced by his company FU Music in a Weibo post at around 1:20pm on Mar. 1.
According to the post, Fong passed away "peacefully" after battling "a deep-rooted illness" with a positive attitude for five years.
"He had embarked on another chapter of his life journey where he could continue pursuing his mission and dream," FU Music wrote.
"The music and graphic novel Fong left behind are spiritual wealth that will last forever," read the post.

According to Taiwanese media TVBS, Fong suffered from pneumothorax, or collapsed lung, in 2010 and was hospitalised several times.
Although his condition stabilised after treatment, it relapsed two years later, forcing him to withdraw from the entertainment industry.
Although Fong's condition affected his voice, Fong's manager told TVBS in 2024 that his fans did not need to worry about him, as he would always finish his pieces to the best of his abilities.
