Three people were sent to hospital after a pile-up involving a taxi and seven cars along Jalan Bukit Merah on the afternoon of Jan. 24.

This happened on the same day that a five-vehicle accident on the Seletar Expressway (SLE) resulted in a massive jam, with five sent to hospital.

Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that on Jan. 24 at about 5:25pm, they were alerted to an accident along Jalan Bukit Merah towards New Bridge Road.

A taxi driver and two car passengers were sent to hospital.

Three cars and a blue taxi had stopped across three lanes of the road following the collision.

The rear bumper of one of the cars had fallen off.

Another car had its boot open, with a man in a green shirt looking inside.

A man in white stood between two lanes to record the scene with his phone.

Another picture, shared on Telegram, showed two traffic police officers standing next to the taxi at the accident scene.

The taxi's front body appeared badly damaged from the collision.
