Motorcyclist, 31, dies in accident with car in Loyang, driver, 55, arrested
The motorcycle appeared to have a Malaysian licence plate.

A 31-year-old motorcyclist died in an accident with a car in the Loyang area on the morning of Jan. 24.
Police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) told Mothership that at about 6:40am on Jan. 24, they were alerted to an accident at the junction of Loyang Way and Loyang Lane.
The accident involved a car and a motorcycle, police said.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The aftermath
Scenes of the aftermath were shared to social media the same day.
A motorcycle was seen lying on its side in the middle of the junction with debris scattered everywhere.

A man in a grey shirt was seen directing traffic away from the accident scene.
SCDF personnel were later seen attending to the fallen rider.

Subsequently, a blue tent was erected in the middle of the junction.

In another video, police were also seen interviewing eyewitnesses at the scene.
Car driver, 55, arrested
Police said a 31-year-old male motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.
A 55-year-old male car driver was arrested for careless driving causing death.
Police investigations are ongoing.
