Two people died following an accident along the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) on Jan. 21.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted to the accident at about 5:40am, which occurred along BKE towards the Pan Island Expressway (PIE).
Two persons were pronounced dead at the scene by an SCDF paramedic.
The police said the deceased were a 52-year-old male motorcyclist and a 41-year-old female pillion rider.
The accident involved a motorcycle and two lorries.
Police investigations are ongoing.
Photos and videos of the accident by other motorists speculated that the accident involved a motorcycle and a lorry.
In one video, traffic police could be seen pulling up a white cloth behind the lorry, while in another video, two blue tents could be seen on the road.
Two of the five-lane BKE was cordoned off in the aftermath of the accident.
The accident subsequently resulted in a traffic congestion that extended to to the Woodlands Checkpoint, Lianhe Zaobao reported.
SBS Transit informed commuters via Facebook that bus services 161, 168 and 138 were delayed due to traffic congestion.
The services resumed normal operations by 12pm.
