Rat does acrobatics while eating tandoori chicken hanging at M'sia mamak stall

A rat found some semblance of paradise when it chanced upon several chicken pieces hanging on spits at a mamak stall in Malaysia.

Perched on the chickens, the rodent nibbled on chicken parts, much to the amusement of children present.

The rat's antics were captured on camera by a diner and uploaded onto Facebook on Sep. 25.

"It's actually pretty cute," commented a watching kid.

"I want to keep one"

As the rat stretched across the spits to inspect the chicken, the kid voiced: "I want to keep one."

The rat somehow managed to cling onto the chicken even while doing this:

"Oh my god," its young audience gasped.

Seemingly satisfied with its meal, the rat dismounted the chicken and scampered off.

This elicited a fresh wave of screams and laughter from the kid.

Food safety concerns

While the kid was thoroughly amused by the "Ratatouille" encounter, several people in the comments section expressed concern over the rodent's proximity to human food.

One person remarked that the diner who saw the rat should have made it a priority to inform the store owner.

In December 2022, a large rat was spotted munching on fried chicken at another Malaysian eatery in Kuala Lumpur.

After going viral, the video caught the attention of Malaysia's health ministry.

The store was made to close temporarily.
