U.S. President Donald Trump confirmed that the U.S. has conducted military strikes on Iran.

This comes after Iranian media reported that two missiles had struck Qeshm Island, Reuters reported.

The island lies off the Strait of Hormuz, and it is reportedly a vital area for oil and gas.

“Minor strikes”

Trump said on Nov. 6 that the U.S. had carried out “minor strikes” against Iranian air defence systems, Al Jazeera and CNBC reported.

“They built a little bit of an anti-aircraft device, and we knocked it out in about 15 minutes, maybe five,” Trump said.

He reportedly did not confirm whether he was referring to the strikes on Qeshm Island.

Iranian state media also reported that Iran’s air defence measures intercepted and destroyed an American MQ-9 Reaper drone over the island.

No official information was available on possible damage.

Prior to this, an American official confirmed that the U.S. had also struck the island on Nov. 2 as part of a “defensive measure”.

Talks

Trump also told reporters that his administration is “dealing” with Iranian representatives.

“They (Iran) have 300 per cent inflation. Their navy’s gone. Their airport, everything’s gone, and they want to make a deal,” Trump said.

In an International Monetary Fund report, Iran’s consumer prices were projected to increase by an average of 78.6 per cent in 2026.

Trump also said that “we have nobody getting hurt, nobody getting killed” when asked if he wanted to make a deal with Iran “really soon”.

“You know, this is a war that we may have been there for seven months, but we probably fought for three or four weeks, really fought,” he said.
