S'pore woman, 76, allegedly slaps & pinches domestic helper 10 times & reverses car into her

A 76-year-old woman was charged on Sep. 29 for allegedly repeatedly abusing her domestic helper.

According to charge sheets seen by Mothership, Tay Seok Kheng allegedly slapped the helper at least 10 times and also reversed her car towards the helper in a parking lot.

She also allegedly pulled the helper's hair, pinched her and struck her head with a walking stick.

Tay faces 13 charges, including 10 counts of voluntarily causing hurt to the helper.

She is also charged with harassing the helper using abusive words, using criminal force against her, and acting rashly in a manner that endangered her personal safety.

Alleged abuse

Tay allegedly pinched the helper's hand on Oct. 27, 2024 and again on Mar. 5 and 6, 2025.

On Mar. 8, 2025, while reversing her vehicle in a multi-storey car park at Yishun Avenue 1, Tay allegedly drove toward the helper.

On that same day, she was also accused of verbally abusing the helper, such as scolding her "ch**b*i" (which means "cunt" in English), pulling her hair, and slapping her.

At around 8am the next day, Tay allegedly slapped the helper while the two were in the lift of an HDB block in Yishun.

About four hours later, they were in the same lift again, where Tay allegedly hit the helper using a slipper.

At around 5:30pm that day, Tay allegedly slapped the helper once more.

A few days later, on Mar. 11, she allegedly pinched the helper's left wrist and slapped her.

The following day, she was accused of striking the helper's head with a walking stick.

On Mar. 16, Tay was again accused of slapping the helper inside an HDB flat in Yishun.

Tay's next hearing date is scheduled for Oct. 28.
