Crow attacks elderly passers-by in Crawford Lane after nest apparently falls from tree

Three seniors became unsuspecting victims of a crow attack after the bird's nest apparently fell from a tree at Crawford Lane.

Residents in the area noticed that the nest had fallen on the ground outside Block 462 Crawford Lane in Lavender on Sep. 4, according to Shin Min Daily News.

A resident told the media outlet that the crows had been nesting there for some time, and were often heard cawing in the mornings.

After the fall, they began cawing noticeably louder and appeared more aggressive, presumably to protect their young who fell out of the nest, Shin Min noted.

One was also seen pecking at the heads of three elderly passers-by.

An employee of a nearby restaurant reported seeing the crows rummaging through trash cans at night, though she did not witness any crow attacks.

Another employee also told Shin Min the crows have become noticeably more aggressive, which he said was a cause for concern for people who throw their trash outside the back doors.

The Jalan Besar Town Council said it has assisted NParks in moving the crow's nest on Sep. 9.

Both parties will also cooperate in prevention and control efforts where necessary.
