A 14-year-old boy allegedly approached a nine-year-old girl in Bukit Batok and displayed what her mother described as sexually inappropriate behaviour towards her.
Boy allegedly asked the girl if she wanted to "do something fun"
According to a post on the Instagram account @sgfollowsall, the incident took place at about 5pm on Aug. 28 at Bukit Batok.
The girl's mother alleged that her nine-year-old daughter was walking home alone after tuition when she was approached by a 14-year-old boy dressed in basketball attire.
The boy allegedly asked for the girl's name and whether she wanted to "do something fun".
He then persuaded her to follow him to a nearby housing block and led her up a staircase, according to the mother.
She claimed that the boy subsequently displayed "sexually inappropriate behaviour" and asked to use her daughter's phone to search for sexually explicit videos.
The mother said that a check of the phone's Google search history showed searches for pornographic content.
She also alleged that the boy did not have his own phone or wallet with him at the time.
According to the mother, a resident who was collecting a parcel outside his home noticed the situation and intervened before calling the police.
Resident alleged similar incident involving his nieces
The mother said the resident told her that his two nieces, one of whom was 10 years old, had allegedly been approached by a boy matching the same description at a nearby playground a few days earlier.
The girls managed to run home, the resident allegedly told her.
The mother added that he also told her that one of his nieces later identified the same boy during a video call.
In response to Mothership's queries, the police confirmed that a report was lodged and investigations are ongoing.
