Elderly woman injured after falling on escalator at Yishun’s Junction 9, sent to hospital
It is believed that she was pushing a trolley onto the escalator when she fell.

An elderly woman was injured and sent to the hospital after she fell on an escalator at a Yishun mall on Aug. 19.
The incident happened at around 4:45pm at Junction Nine, on the escalator leading up from the first floor to the second, Lianhe Zaobao reported.
What the video showed
A video circulating on Facebook showed the woman, in a red top, lying on her side on an escalator that had stopped operating.
First responders at the scene were seen checking her injuries and administering first aid.
She appeared to have had injured her head but remained conscious, and officers then helped her into a sitting position.
A shopping trolley was parked not far from the escalator.
It is believed that she had been pushing it up onto the escalator when she fell, according to Zaobao.
One taken to hospital
SCDF told Mothership it received a call for assistance at 18 Yishun Avenue 9 at around 4:45pm on Aug. 19, and took one person to Khoo Teck Puat Hospital.
