Confirmed: M'sia to host F1 race from Oct. 2-4, 2026
The race will be held at the Sepang International Circuit near Kuala Lumpur a week before Singapore's race.

Malaysia is set to host a Formula 1 race at the Sepang International Circuit from Oct. 2 to 4, according to an announcement on the official Formula 1 Instagram page.
The race will replace the Bahrain Grand Prix, which was scheduled to take place in April, but was called off along with the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix amid the war in Iran, BBC reported.
According to Formula 1, the event will be held as the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia, subject to final agreements and official sign-off.
The Malaysia race will take place between the Azerbaijan and Singapore races on the 2026 Formula 1 calendar.
The Malaysia race will occur a week before the Singapore Grand Prix, which is scheduled for Oct. 9 to 11.
Sepang International Circuit last hosted a Formula 1 race in 2017, before the event was dropped from the calendar amid rising hosting and licensing costs, The Star reported.
