Man, 31, arrested for allegedly molesting girl, 11, at Woodlands

A 31-year-old man was arrested for his suspected involvement in a case of outrage of modesty.
On Jun. 23 at about 8:30pm, the police received a report that an unknown man had allegedly molested an 11-year-old girl in the vicinity of Woodlands Drive 50.
The man’s identity was established through follow-up investigations with the aid of images from police cameras.
He was subsequently arrested within a day of the report.
The man was scheduled to be charged with the offence of outrage of modesty on Jun. 26.
The offence carries a jail term of three to 10 years and caning.
The police said they have zero tolerance towards sexual offenders who prey on unsuspecting victims and threaten the personal safety of those in the community.
Offenders will be dealt with sternly in accordance with the law.
The police also advised victims of molestation to move away from the perpetrators and call the police immediately when it is safe to do so.
While ensuring their personal safety, victims should try to note key details, such as the perpetrator’s physical appearance, clothing, the time and location of the incident.
