A Malaysian single mother, 28, said her boyfriend of six months beat her and slandered her online because he was unhappy that she was still in contact with her ex.

Peng Jiaxin, a waitress, said her reputation had been damaged due to the false accusations.

She added that she believed this was why her company recently dismissed her, reported Sin Chew Daily.

According to Peng, the boyfriend had an argument with her regarding her ex-boyfriend and ended up hitting her with a cane, beating her violently, and throwing a suitcase at her.

This led to visible injuries all over her body.

She also claimed the man hit her head on the wall multiple times.

After the altercation, she took her daughter, eight, and left.

The man then spread falsehoods about the woman, provoking a round of cyberbullying and sexual harassment.

He reportedly titled one of his posts "I should have hit her harder".

Peng said she had contacted her ex-boyfriend over some financial issues. She also said the current boyfriend had taken money from her to gamble before.

Investigations are ongoing.
