Two other men were arrested in the vicinity of Woodlands Industrial Park.
A 23-year-old Malaysian man was arrested for attempting to smuggle drugs in a Malaysia-registered car arriving at Woodlands Checkpoint.
This included about 5,127g of cannabis and 2,072g of Ice (crystal methamphetamine), said Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) in a joint press release on Apr. 23.
The drugs were discovered on the evening of Apr. 14, 2026, when ICA officers had directed the car for enhanced checks.
They uncovered two plastic bags believed to contain controlled drugs in the car boot.
CNB officers were immediately alerted to the detection and conducted further checks.
Two other men arrested
A total of about 5,127g of cannabis and 2,072g of Ice were seized from the two plastic bags.
The drugs seized have an estimated worth of more than S$547,000 and could potentially feed the addiction of about 1,900 abusers for a week, the authorities said.
On the same day, CNB officers launched an operation in the vicinity of Woodlands Industrial Park which led to the arrest of two Bangladeshi men, aged 42 and 36, for suspected drug offences.
Investigations are ongoing.
Those who import into or export from Singapore more than 250g of methamphetamine, or more than 500g of cannabis may face the death penalty.
"ICA and CNB will continue to work closely to prevent attempts to smuggle drugs across our borders," they said.
"ICA is also committed to conducting security checks at the checkpoints to prevent attempts to smuggle undesirable persons, weapons, explosives and other contraband across our borders."
