In a Facebook post on Mar. 5, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) said they will mount a second repatriation flight on Mar. 8 to bring Singaporeans home from Muscat, Oman, due to high demand.

This follows an earlier announcement on Mar. 5 that the ministry was planning a repatriation flight departing Muscat on Mar. 7 to help Singaporeans return home from the region.

During a doorstop that day, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Gan Siow Huang said the flights are intended to support Singaporeans currently in Oman and the United Arab Emirates, where about 60 per cent of those who have e-registered with MFA are located.

MFA also advised Singaporeans in other parts of the Middle East who are interested in taking these flights to contact Singapore embassies in the region, or the MFA Duty Office at 6379 8000/8855 or [email protected].

MFA will also launch assisted overland trips in the coming days for Singaporeans in Bahrain and Qatar to Riyadh — Riyadh's airport remains open and commercial flights are available for booking.

Gan urged Singaporeans in the Middle East to remain in sheltered places and heed the advice of local authorities.

She also encouraged those who have yet to e-register with MFA to do so in order to facilitate communication and the provision of information.

We will continue doing everything we can: PM Wong

In a Mar. 5 Facebook post, Prime Minister Lawrence Wong shared that he received messages from Singaporeans overseas who were concerned about returning home amid the situation in the Middle East.

"The safety and well-being of Singaporeans remain our top priority," he said.

He added that MFA and Singapore’s overseas missions are working around the clock to assist those affected.

"We will continue doing everything we can to help Singaporeans in the region who wish to return home come back safely," he affirmed.
