S'porean actor Leon Jay Williams diagnosed with thyroid cancer: 'Will I get to see my daughter grow up?'
He had two successful surgeries.
Singaporean actor Leon Jay Williams revealed in an interview that he was diagnosed with thyroid cancer around August 2025.
When the 49-year-old saw the results, his first thought was: "Will I get to see my daughter grow up?"
He underwent two surgeries to remove two tumours, one 3cm and another 1.1 cm, in September 2025.
While the surgeries were successful, with 99 per cent of the tumours removed, he said there are still fears that the cancer might spread.
To that end, Williams is taking monthly medication and monitoring his condition.
He was so worried about radiation issues affecting his family during his radiotherapy that he stayed by himself during his treatment.
Despite the setback, Williams is staying positive, saying he will receive treatment when necessary while continuing to live his life as usual.
Williams started his career in modelling at 17, and later on ventured into acting overseas, mainly in China and Taiwan.
The actor, who also released his first album in 2005, is a mix of English, German, Japanese and Chinese lineage.
