A 64-year-old man in Taiwan allegedly woke up in a bad mood and fatally attacked his wife with a hammer and kitchen knife on Nov. 17.
The man, surnamed Li, then apparently turned himself in at a police station, reported ETtoday.
Woke up in bad mood
Li, a Burmese Chinese, is believed to be retired in October 2025 and his wife, Luo, was a housewife.
He told the police that he was in a bad mood after waking up and found that his daughter had left for work while his wife was sitting alone on the sofa.
He was "inexplicably enraged" and attacked his wife repeatedly with weapons such as a hammer and a kitchen knife.
Luo was said to have died from her injuries and was left in a pool of blood.
Li then rode his bicycle to the police station and told the officer: ""I killed my wife."
He was detained and investigations are ongoing.
