A Michigan man, with the initials J.D. Vance, has been sentenced to two years' jail in U.S. courts for threatening to kill the Vice President of the United States, JD Vance.

Threatened JD Vance, Trump and Elon Musk

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Western District of Michigan, the 67-year-old man's full name is James Donald Vance Jr.

VP JD Vance's full name is James David Vance, and The New York Times (NYT) reported that he prefers to be addressed as JD, without the periods.

Vance was born with the name James Donald Bowman, and was known as J.D. Hamel before changing it to JD Vance in 2013, taking his grandmother's surname.

Vance Jr. made several threatening posts on social media platform, Bluesky, against U.S. President Donald Trump, the VP JD Vance and Elon Musk.

According to NYT the offender, using the alias "Diaperjdv", wrote: "If tRump, Vance, or Musk ever come to my city again, they will leave it in a body bag."

In a separate post, Vance Jr. also wrote that he would murder Donald Trump Jr., son of President Trump.

In one message, he proclaimed that he did not care whether he was shot by Secret Service or would spend the rest of his life in prison for his actions, the U.S. Attorney's Office wrote.

Offender had "serious and mental health issues"

Secret Service agents arrested Vance Jr. in June.

In July, the man pleaded guilty to threatening to kill or injure the president or vice president, as well as transmitting threatening communications interstate.

Vance Jr.'s public defender argued that the he should receive probation instead of jail time because he was a first-time offender with serious physical and mental health issues, NYT wrote.

She also argued that Vance Jr.'s statements were merely rhetoric and not plans.

According to her, Vance Jr. still wears diapers, hence his alias, "Diaperjdv".

Vance Jr. was previously investigated in 2018 for posting threats against Trump on Facebook.
