Singaporean paralympic swimmer Yip Pin Xiu has won a gold medal at the 2025 World Para Swimming Championships on Sep. 26.
The 33-year-old came in first in the women’s 50m backstroke S2 and claimed Singapore's first gold medal in the championships.
Fourth consecutive gold win
Yip competed at the OCBC Aquatics Centre, and finished with a time of 1 minute and 4.31 seconds.
She beat Russian athlete Diana Koltsova and Italy's Arjola Trimi, marking her fourth straight gold in this event at the championships.

She currently holds both the world and championship records in the 50m and 100m backstroke S2.
Earlier in the meet, she also claimed silver in the 100m backstroke S2.
President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, along with Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong, were also in attendance to support Yip in the finals.
