Man, 39, allegedly stole PMD, sent to hospital after possibly self-skidding along Commonwealth Ave West

A man was involved in an accident near Dover MRT after allegedly riding a stolen personal mobility device (PMD).

According to a Mothership reader, the incident is said to have taken place at around 3:30am to 4am on Friday (Sep. 26).

Photos shared by the reader showed the man lying on the ground near a kerb, and appeared to be bleeding from his head. The PMD was seen toppled on the ground nearby.

PMD was allegedly stolen

According to the reader, the video was circulating on a GrabFood delivery WhatsApp group.

Mothership understands that the PMD had allegedly been stolen, and was identified by its owner after the video of the accident was circulated.

The PMD's owner intends to file a police report.

In response to Mothership's queries, police confirmed that they were alerted to an accident involving a PMD at about 3:30am along Commonwealth Avenue West towards Commonwealth Avenue.

According to the police, the PMD was believed to have self-skidded.

The PMD rider is a 39-year-old man and police investigations are ongoing.

Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) also confirmed with Mothership that they had received a call for assistance at about 3:35am.

The PMD rider was conveyed semi-conscious to National University Hospital.
