Defence Minister Chan Chun Sing will make his introductory visit to the United States, in his current role, from Sep. 9 to 13.
He will be accompanied by the chief of Singapore's air force Major-General Kelvin Fan and other officials from the Ministry of Defence (Mindef).
Chan will meet senior U.S. leaders, including members of the US Congress, in Washington D.C.
Previously in May, Chan met his U.S. counterpart Pete Hegseth during the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore.
In the U.S. Chan will also visit two defence sites, Mountain Home Air Force Base in Idaho, where Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) personnel are participating in the Exercise Forging Sabre 2025.
Chan will also visit the Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter aircraft production facility in Fort Worth, Texas.
In 2019, Mindef announced that Singapore will acquire F-35 Joint Strike Fighter jets to replace its ageing F-16s.
Chan's visit to the U.S. "underscores the excellent and longstanding bilateral defence relationship between Singapore and the U.S.", the press release from Mindef says.
