It is also a viral hit on TikTok, with a clip of Song's rendition garnering over 25 million views.
The music awards show is organised by the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association in collaboration with Japan's Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
'Feels extremely surreal': Song
Song, who has been writing songs since she was 16, said in a release that "it feels extremely surreal" to be one of five final nominees in the Best Song Asia Category.
"It would be my absolute dream and honour to take this award home, but this nomination is already such a blessing, and I am so grateful for every person that has been cheering me on,” Song said.
Following the release of her debut album, Song went on a Southeast Asia tour in January, with stops in Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, and Manila.
In March, she also sang at Wanderland Festival in the Philippines.
