Man allegedly splashes Boon Keng HDB units with red liquid, gets caught within 2 hours

A man, 36, allegedly splashed red liquid on the gates and doors of two HDB units at McNair Road in Boon Keng on May 23.
He was arrested for suspected loanshark harassment within two hours of the report, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) said.
Photos provided by the police showed the entrances of the flats splashed with a red-coloured liquid resembling blood.
Debtor's notes were also seen, reading: "OWE $$ PAY $$ FIRST WARNING!! CALL ME BACK".

The man will be charged in court on May 24 under the Moneylenders Act 2008, SPF said.
"The Police have zero tolerance for loanshark harassment activities. Those who deliberately vandalise properties, cause annoyance and disruption to public safety and security, will be dealt with severely in accordance with the law," SPF added.
For loanshark harassment, a first-time offender can be fined between S$5,000 and S$50,000, jailed for up to five years, and caned up to six strokes.
