A Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight attendant was caught on video getting hit on the head accidentally when a private-hire vehicle driver closed the boot of his car on her.

The Feb. 19 incident at around 8:30pm apparently occurred at the arrival pick-up point at Changi Airport Terminal 3, when the driver was helping the stewardess with her luggage.

What video showed

The video first showed the driver opening the boot as the flight attendant, carrying a silver carry-on luggage in her left hand and another bag in her right, prepared to load her belongings.

The driver helped to load her belongings in what appeared to be a routine passenger pick-up.

Both stepped back momentarily before the driver moved to close the boot.

However, just as he pushed down on it, the flight attendant unexpectedly stepped forward, resulting in the boot door striking her head.

A loud thud was audible in the footage.

A voice that said, “Oh, oh my god”, could be heard and the driver rushed to check on the passenger dressed in the SQ kebaya uniform.

The video ended with the flight attendant, seen rubbing her head, signalling to the driver that she was alright.

Responses

Opinions to the incident were divided.

Some blamed the flight attendant for stepping forward abruptly as the driver was just about to shut the boot.

Others criticised the driver for not ensuring the passenger was standing clear of the boot before closing it.

While opinions varied, many agreed that both parties bore some responsibility for the mishap.
