The annual Chinese New Year festival, River Hongbao, is back.

This year's edition will take place from Jan. 27 to Feb. 5, 2025, at Gardens by the Bay.

It will commemorate Singapore's 60 years of independence with SG60-themed festivities.

The event will also include live performances, interactive exhibits, family-friendly attractions and a food street with local and international delights.

Admission to the event is free of charge.

Welcome Arches

A grand illuminated entrance featuring butterflies and flowers.

The Lion City

SG60-themed lantern showcasing the Merdeka Lion and Singapore's iconic skyline.

Joyful Years Ahead

A nostalgic SG60 display, featuring symbols like the Lion Head Roller Coaster, reunion dinners and retro motifs.

God of Fortune

An 18m-tall lantern of the God of Fortune holding a giant bun overflowing with gold coins and surrounded by large gold ingots.

Colourful Melodies

A vibrant lantern set depicting a snake dancing to musical notes from a giant gramophone, surrounded by keyboard graphics.

Wishing Heart

A display where visitors can toss coins and make wishes for the new year.

All proceeds benefit Viriya Community Services, to support families and individuals in need.

The display showcases a sunflower which symbolises a fresh start for the new year.

Elegant red-crowned crane displays that symbolise well-wishes for the festive season.

Here are some additional event highlights:

Firecracker displays

Firecracker displays will light up the sky on the first three nights in celebration of SG60, with 60 strands on the opening night and 30 strands on subsequent evenings.

  • Jan. 27 and 29, 8pm
  • Jan. 28, 12am

Location: The Meadow

Nightly stage performances

A diverse lineup of live performances, including music, dance and cultural showcases.

Performances by local talents like Joanna Dong, Shigga Shay and shazza will be featured, along with international acts such as The Wind from Yunnan Performing Troupe.

The event will also host themed nights like Getai Night and Xinyao Night.

Amusement rides

The event will offer family-friendly rides, including the Double-Storey Horse Carousel, Euro Swing, Space Shuttle, Mini Viking and Texas Train.

There will be a range of local and international food options, from Muah Chee and Char Kway Sotong to Turkish Kebab, Japanese Takoyaki and Korean Spicy Noodles.
