Merlion statue to be covered in scaffolding for cleaning on Feb. 11 & 12, 2025

The iconic Merlion statue that sits at the Merlion Park will be undergoing cleaning and maintenance from Feb. 11 to Feb. 12, 2025.
While cleanup and maintenance are in progress, the Merlion statue will be covered in scaffolding and unavailable for photo-taking, the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) said in a media advisory on Jan. 6.
In the meantime, the public is welcome to take photos with the nearby Merlion cub statue, also situated at the Merlion Park.

"We seek the public’s understanding as the works and barricades may cause some inconvenience during this period," said STB.
The Merlion statue undergoes periodic maintenance and cleaning, with one cleanup taking up to 12 weeks in 2023.
The most recent cleaning was conducted on Dec. 4, 2024.
