China's 1st corgi police dog loses bonus of snacks & toys after getting caught peeing into food bowl & sleeping on job
It is still a good boy.
China's first corgi police, Fu Zai, fell short during his performance review and has lost out on his "year-end bonus".
While the pup had a good year, some slip-ups caused Fu Zai to fall short, Weifang Public Security Bureau noted on Chinese social media site Duoyin.
Falls short
It was apparently a good year for Fu Zai.
Not only did the doggo pass its level four assessment, it also completed numerous security tasks and helped contribute to the publicity of Weifang police dogs.
All seemed well as the pup was presented with a red flower and a hamper full of toys and snacks.

However, Fu Zai was caught sleeping on the job and relieving itself in its own food bowl, so its bonus hamper was swiftly confiscated.
All that was left was the red flower around its neck.
"Hope you make make persistent efforts in the future," the officer said to Fu Zai.
Following the demands from Douyin users to give Fu Zai its full bonus, Weifang Public Security Bureau uploaded a follow-up video on Jan. 22, stating that Fu Zai has received plenty of treats that range from rabbit meatballs to dumplings.
Fu Zai was also awarded the "Annual Award for Defying Fate" in a Pet of the Year video on Jan. 25.

Fu Zai was awarded for "breaking through the limitations of its genes".
In addition, its officer shared that it hopes Fu Zai "will be able to grow taller".
Defying expectations
Fu Zai rose to fame in 2024 when it became the first corgi to debut as a police dog in China.
At just two months old, Fu Zai underwent exercises that taught it obedience and bomb-searching techniques.
Fu Zai's little legs also became its strength, allowing it to crawl into and search narrow spaces for explosives.
